Application for scholarship to participate in ACSC/APF 2016 is now open

Deadline for application: 26 June 2016

The Regional Steering Committee of ASEAN Civil Society Conference/ASEAN Peoples’ Forum (ACSC/APF) 2016 is pleased to announce that we have receive funding support from the German Government for participation of ASEAN participants at ACSC/APF2016 that will be held on 2^nd – 5^th August 2016 in Dili, Timor-Leste.

This is announcing the open scholarship to support 45 participants.

 

Application conditions and procedures

1.       The scholarship will cover only the support for :

–          The two-way (shortest flight from country of origin of applicant to Dili) economic airfare, up to the amount indicated below

–          Visa fee except for Indonesia Participants

–          Accommodation – Twin Sharing Room (Check in: 2 August 2016, Check Out:6 August 2016)

–          Registration fee

–          A fixed sum for transit cost except for Indonesia and Singapore Participants

–          A fixed lump sum for airport transfer (both in-country and in Dili), per diem for three dinners not covered by the official forum.

2.       Please find below the ceiling price of the airfare that we would cover :

3.       The applicant must fill in the application form and submit to the Secretariat of ACSC/APF 2016 at scholarship.acscapf@gmail.com by 26 June 2016.

4.       There is a 3-person committee consisting of representatives from Timor-Leste and Malaysian Secretariat that will review and make the decision.

5.       Successful applicants must provide original supporting documents such as invoice, receipts, boarding pass etc to make the claims and reimbursement for the scholarship. No reimbursement can be made without original supporting documents.

6.       Due to limited human resources, the Secretariat will inform successful applicants only by 1^st July 2016.

Criteria for consideration      

1.       The applicant must be non-Timorese and priority will be given to individuals from grassroots/national organisations working in ASEAN.

2.       The applicant must represent independent civil society organization/people’s movement and will bring the voice of civil society and the peoples to the forum.

3.       The applicant must show him/herself or the civil society organization that he/she represents has proven legitimate interest or experiences working in Southeast Asia and in relation to ASEAN.

4.       The applicant shall participate fully and actively in the ACSC/APF 2016.

5.       The applicant shall share as much as possible what he or she has learned in the ACSC/APF 2016 with civil society and other stakeholders after returning to their own country.
