The newly comprised Steering Committee of the Asia Democracy Network met for the first time at the 5th ADN Steering Committee Meeting and Strategic Plan Meeting, held from January 12-13, 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand. The two day-long meeting was aimed to identify the long term goals and strategies of the ADN as well. Through the assessment and deliberation of the current trends and challenges to Democracy in various thematic sectors, the SC members were able to develop an action plan for the next two years (2016-2017). This process was a realization of the ADN’s role in advocating democracy and defending civic space through solidarity and effective advocacy.
