Reclaiming the ASEAN Community for the People

The ASEAN Civil Society Conference/ASEAN People’s Forum (ACSC/APF) is an annual forum of civil society organisations (CSOs) in ASEAN held parallel to the ASEAN Summit of Heads of State. Participants consist of representatives from civil society organizations, NGOs, people’s organizations and people’s movements. The ACSC/APF is a critical platform for civil societies in ASEAN countries to deliberate common challenges faced by them as a region especially relating to human rights, the rule of law, democracy and peace at local and regional levels.

The theme for the ACSC/APF 2015 was “Reclaiming the ASEAN Community for the People” which reflected the will of the people to advance fundamental human rights principles, standards and democratic governance in the region.
