The Women’s Solidarity for Peace and Democratic Governance in Myanmar- Burma is a solidarity page that seeks to promote exchanges of ideas and support for women ( and men) working for peace, human security and democratic governance in Myanmar as well as other countries in conflict/post-conflict and in democratic transition.
It is a joint undertaking by the Women’r Organizations Network of Myanmar (WON) and its cluster network Women’s Initiatives Network for Peace (WINPEACE), the Women Can Do It- Myanmar (WCDI), Women’s Political Actions, and international solidarity groups such as, the Initiatives for International Dialogue (IID) and the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC-Southeast Asia).
Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict – Southeast Asia (GPPAC-SEA) is a regional civil society-led network which seeks to build an international consensus on peace-building and the prevention of violent conflict. Its Regional Secretariat is hosted by Initiatives for International Dialogue (IID) in Manila/Davao, and focal points in Dili, Jakarta, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Phnom Penh, Vientiane, Yangon and Hanoi.
Initiatives for International Dialogue (IID) is an advocacy and solidarity organization promoting south-south solidarity and internationalism. Thematic priorities: conflict prevention and peacebuilding, democratization and right to self-determination. IID works on conflict prevention and peacebuilding, democratization and right to self-determination in the region particularly in Mindanao, Burma, Timor-Leste, South Thailand, Aceh and West Papua and the region at large.
