Cultivating the Next Generation of Democracy Advocates
The Asia Democracy Network prioritizes cultivating the next generation of democracy advocates as we see that it is vital to sustain the progress the movement for quality democracy and human rights for all.
As a regional network of diverse civil society actors, ADN is able to access various knowledge, perspectives, prominent persons, and movements. With these rich resources we aim to provide a platform for youth leaders to engage with diverse actors to strengthen their cause and movement.
The ADN is values and committed to not only cultivate them but to include them in the decision making process. Only through inclusion, will we strengthen democracy.
Annual Youth Assembly
ADN aims to open a platform for youth activists, movements, networks, and organizations from across Asia and the globe to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and to develop strategy on progressing democracy.
The first Youth Assembly was held in December 2021. Young movement leaders from across the world participated.
Annual Youth Leadership Program
The Asia Democracy Network (ADN) in collaboration with various regional actors, have implemented since 2017 a youth training program with the aim to strengthen solidarity among young democracy advocates as well as to empower youth movements.
Objectives:
- Youth umbrella network as already many youth networks in the region
- Break the silos and bring together for collective action/advocacy for the region
- Provide inter-generational dialogue – where learning happens both ways
