“Can Gender Approaches Improve Responses to Violent Extremism?” is this year’s theme at the Indonesia Peacebuilders Forum 2019 organized by the Asia Muslim Action Network Indonesia @amanindonesia.org and the Universitas Brawijaya in Malang,Indonesia!
Over 200 Peacebuilders from across Asia and Indonesia gathered in Malang to highlight the need to recognize gender perspective in approaching the prevention of violent extremism.

ADN Program Manager, Soo Suh, moderated a session at the IPF 2019 in a session on “Gender-based Criminal Justice System. It was a good opportunity to learn more about the criminal justice system in Indonesia and how civil society is working to build the capacity of the system to adapt to the changing landscape of extremism. It was also an opportunity to start thinking of ways ADN can connect on these issues through SDG 16 and the Human Rights Cities approach.
